The Ticket To Write Festival is a showcase of original plays based on The Beatles. The plays are selected and produced by experienced industry professionals, to be showcased in the form of a competition , guaranteeing a £150 prize for the winning play.
At Ticket To Write we are dedicated to not only to staging new writing to the highest possible standard but also offering opportunities to the local performing arts communities.

NEW DIRECTOR APPOINTED
We are pleased to announce that Martin Henshell has agreed to be the Artistic Director for the Ticket to Write Festival 2014.
Martin trained as an actor at the Oxford School of Drama and has performed in theatre, film, commercials and television for companies including the BBC and ITV. As a writer he gained a place on the Soho Theatre’s young writers' course and was subsequently invited to join its core group of writers.
He has worked as a writer for companies such as Shared Experience, The Drama Centre, Company of Angels with John Retallack and was commissioned to write a community theatre play by Wigan Pier Theatre Company. His work has been produced professionally in the UK and North America. He has directed plays in London, Liverpool and Edinburgh where his production of his own play “Bitches & Money” was nominated for Best Ensemble by The Stage newspaper at its annual awards.
Since moving to Liverpool he has written several short plays that have been performed in Liverpool and Manchester and directed pieces including new writing at Liverpool Town Hall for Light Night, The Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight and the Unity Theatre for the Write Now Festival. His short film “Scratch” was shortlisted by Liverpool Film Night following a screening at FACT.
